The east side of Wheat Ridge features many smaller, bungalow homes while the west side is comprised of much larger homes. Within Wheat Ridge there is a lot of opportunity for new construction homes among a number of mid-century builds.

- Recreation Center - The Wheat Ridge Recreation Center is a 70,000 square foot fitness center and pool that is equipped with weight training center, two multipurpose gymnasiums, a track, a climbing wall, racquetball courts, and a children’s center.
- Carnation Festival - The Carnation Festival is a 48 year, family-friendly tradition in Wheat Ridge that offers music, food, fireworks in early August.
- Parks and Recreation - The Wheat Ridge Parks and Recreation department has established many parks, trails, and programs for residents to enjoy and a great way to meet the neighbors.
- The Ridge at 38th and Shop 44th - The Ridge at 38th and Shop 44th make up Wheat Ridge’s commercial districts that offer residents and visitors a small town community business district within the residential streets of Wheat Ridge. The Ridge and Shop 44th have many locally owned retail, restaurant and service businesses, including community favorites like Wheat Ridge Cyclery and Colorado Plus Brew Pub. The Ridge at 38th in particular has its own Leadership Community that is composed of many local business owners that aim to strengthen the business community and its recent growth.
Boundaries: The boundaries for the Wheat Ridge area are 32nd Avenue to the South, Sheridan Boulevard to the East, Interstate 70 to the North and West. However, they are not a perfect square and some areas within are not included in the Wheat Ridge neighborhood, while other areas overflow across these boundaries.
