Style of Homes for Sale in Mayfair and Montclair:
 Since the origination of the neighborhood in the late 1800s, many different style of homes have been built within the area. Many Victorian and Queen Anne style homes are among modest bungalows, Tutors, castles, one-story ranches, and some condos. Of late, many new residents are attracted to older homes on sizable lots for scraping and building new construction duplexes and row homes.

Things to Do in Denver's Mayfair and Montclair Neighborhood:

  • Montclair Rec Center - The new 40,000 square foot Montclair recreation center includes a gym, bleachers, lap pool, leisure pool, locker rooms, a family changing room and four acres of irrigated playfield open space.
  • Shops on Colfax and 8th Avenue - Colfax Avenue creates the North border of the Mayfair and Montclair neighborhood. Once a tough park of town, this thruway has been cleaned up and now offers many opportunities for daily shopping, grocery stores and restaurants where residents can get necessities minutes from their home. To the south, you’ll find many more restaurants and grocery stores on 8th avenue, offering more variety to residents in the area.
  • Richthofen Castle - The historic Montclair neighborhood was originally founded by the Uncle and Godfather of the World War I flying ace, Baron von Richthofen, also known as the “Red Baron”. He promoted the neighborhood as “a fount of health and prosperity, and as a model community with enlightened planning and sophisticated architecture.” He began construction on one of the United States most interesting castles, The Richthofen Castle. The construction was completed in 1887 and was designed after the original Richthofen Castle in Germany with over 35 rooms, a mote, a mistress house, hand tooled leather walls and a massive oak staircase.

Boundaries: The boundaries for Montclair and its sister neighborhood, Mayfair, are Quebec to the East, Colfax to the North, Colorado Boulevard to the West, and Sixth Avenue to the South.
