More about University Park & Observatory Park
New Construction Homes: Typically, building a new construction custom home in University Park or Observatory Park involves purchasing a small, outdated home to scrape and then building a new home in its place. Although many small homes do still exist in this area, the price to buy these can start at a whopping $400,000-$500,000 and, more than likely, many of these homes will no longer be there in another decade or so. The new construction and existing homes in University Park are priced lower than Observatory Park, offering a great option for folks wanting a little more square footage for their money.

Observatory Park: Observatory Park itself is located at Evans & S. Fillmore amidst huge trees and plenty of green grass. At the center of this serene park you'll find the Chamberlin Observatory, the inspiration for the park’s name. Chamberlin Observatory was one of many buildings designed by famous Denver architect, Robert Roeschlaub. The dome houses a 20 inch aperture Clark-Saegmuller refractor, which saw first light in July 1894, and is still “functional” today.
